IP Connectors

IP RATED CONNECTORS

Multilink offers options for fiber drop cables with easier connections and stronger bandwidths. These cables form the external link to connect and disconnect from the network server, joining the cable with the subscriber. Our flat drop fiber cables adhere to Ingress Protection (IP) ratings for up-to-date protection.

With connectors becoming essential to reduce installation and maintenance times, we take pride in our reliable options, which we test for quality. When you work with Multilink, your field technicians will notice a low insertion loss rating and minimal installation time.

SURELIGHT® SCOUT™ DROP CABLE and SURELIGHT® IP DROP CONNECTOR

Our IP-rated connectors are designed for optimal performance, exhibiting cutting-edge features and capabilities to deliver the best results. We carry two top-of-the-line fiber drop cables:

Surelight® Scout™ IP Drop Cable

Our factory-sealed hardened fiber optic connector offers the durability to withstand harsh environmental conditions, delivers fast and simple deployments, and minimizes costs and time of drop within a network. You can purchase this OptiTap™-compatible product in numerous fiber lengths, depending on your fiber to the x (FTTX) design drop deployment needs.

We also offer an indoor-outdoor cable assembly with a single-pole (SP) angled physical contact (APC) indoor connector or Surelight outdoor subscriber connector (SC). This single-fiber, gel-free IP connector assembly is designed to operate in harsh outdoor conditions and comprises bend-insensitive single-model OS2 fiber for added bend tolerance. Our 2.9-millimeter (mm) riser-rated fiber cable is centered within a traditional stranded single tube (SST)-drop dielectric cable and has a toneable option.

FACTORY-TERMINATED

Our Surelight® IP Drop Cable and IP Drop Connector are both factory-tested and -terminated in-house and come equipped with the Multilink® satisfaction guarantee. Each of our products is available in single-mode and multimode. You can also purchase them in ultra-physical contact (UPC) and angled physical contact configurations.

FAST INSTALLATION

Both of our Surelight® IP-rated cables and connectors are employed jointly with our Fiber Tap® Series product lineup. These solutions speed up and simplify deployment to facilitate network service installation.

QUALITY TESTED

We can guarantee that every cable and connector is meticulously tested for quality through our state-of-the-art in-house fiber termination facility. Our team does not send products out of our facility without confirming that they exhibit the utmost quality, using Six Sigma processes and Telcordia standards as the low end of our benchmark.

FIELD-INSTALLABLE

Among our two Surelight® products, only the Surelight® IP Drop Connector is available in a field-installable variation, enabling individuals to use custom bulk fiber reels while utilizing termination capabilities in the field. The connector will typically lose 0.3 decibels (dB) or less with proper termination, generating an efficient external closure network connection.

BENEFITS OF IP RATED CONNECTORS

In the past, these connectors started out as a light-duty option for indoor spaces. However, increasing demand for connection required manufacturers to produce hardened fiber optic connectors that could withstand extreme humidity, fluctuating temperatures and changing weather conditions for high-performance needs and faster networks.

Hardened fiber optic connectors are successful when users consider factors like installation and implementation ahead of time. With field installable connectors, users have more accurate lengths, as the connectors are cut on-site for increased performance. On the other hand, for more cost-effective and preplanned options, factory workers can polish and test a factory terminated fiber drop cable before shipping it out for installation.

At Multilink, we utilize these IP rated connectors to provide several benefits for our customers, including:

Affordability

Price point matters when investing in technology. In the telecommunications industry, budget-friendly options for the right field installable or factory terminated connector allow you to get the job done right with minimal hassle down the road. Our team at Multilink can help you bundle products to save money and reduce stress.

Connectivity

With fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) becoming increasingly popular and in-demand, Multilink's fiber drop cables help to create safe, strong and secure connections for single-family units (SFUs) and externally cabled multi-dwelling units (MDUs). Technicians find ease in installation, reinstallation or maintenance and repairs due to easy troubleshooting at any location.

Durability

Our IP rated connectors protect against moisture, dust, dirt and other particles in indoor and outdoor environments, providing long-term support to withstand harsh conditions. That way, you can have confidence in the safety and ruggedness of this product over one with a generic waterproof label.

Reliability

We use the two-digit IP rating system, which highlights the ability of a product to withstand three types of intrusion. The numbers indicate protection from the elements, such as overall moisture resistance. The IP rating system also increases user safety by indicating if their fingers, hands and other body parts are safe from potential harm.

Versatility

Rapid connection and reduced costs are important for all industries. Flat drop fiber cables help service providers mitigate the impact of data-heavy applications and Internet-based devices on bandwidth connection.
