Outsourcing is a common problem among telecommunications supply vendors and service providers alike. Many businesses attempt to save money by sending orders to foreign production facilities. The most helpful asset Multilink has in the fight to preserve domestic jobs is our corporate campus. We've already seen fortune 500 companies combine regional offices so employees can work and meet directly with one another. We do the same but on a smaller scale. 

The majority of our facilities are located at our campus in Elyria, Ohio. This includes our customer service center, marketing, product specialists, engineering, accounting, HR, quality control, shipping, and even our vendor-managed inventory (VMI). Our on-site sheet metal fabrication facility is a key feature differentiating Multilink from our competitors. Most vendors and suppliers see outsourcing as a way to keep overhead costs down. Since Multilink produces such a variety of products at such a high volume, having our own proprietary facilities makes the most sense and allows us to fill custom orders more efficiently.

Our manufacturing facilities include fabrication, powder coating, and assembly. Multilink's fabrication facility has many capabilities such as a full engineering team that allows Multilink to design new products or create custom ones with relative ease as well as skilled press operators, welders, and grinders. Our newest addition to the Multilink campus is our powder coating line. Just across the highway is our fiber department, where our tags are lasered and our domes, closures, cables, and other fiber accessories are assembled.

2. Minimizing the Footprint

Without needing to outsource orders, Multilink has made production safer for the environment. Since we have both sheet metal fabrication and powder-coating facilities on our campus, we’re able to design, engineer, and produce proprietary or customized products here in Ohio. By manufacturing on-site, we’re producing without having to send orders over vast distances in gas-guzzling semi-trucks or use extra paper, cardboard, and plastic for shipping.

3. Saving Time and Money
